In 1856, Giuseppe Sambonet, a Fine Arts graduate and the son of a nobleman from Vercelli, obtained his warrant as Master Goldsmith and established the company, Giuseppe Sambonet, depositing his seal bearing the initials “GS” at the Turin mint. At the beginning of the twentieth century his company was the Official Purveyor to many noble families, including the Duchess of Genoa and the Count of Turin.

In 1932, Sambonet was the first company in Italy to build an industrial production plant capable of manufacturing both sterling silver and galvanic silverware. In 1938, it developed an innovative process for the production of stainless-steel flatware and developed a silver-plated steel manufacturing technique. In 1947, it started producing stainless steel knives and blades using its own technology.
Sambonet in 1997 entered the Paderno group and in 2009 acquired Rosenthal, the prestigious brand of German porcelain. The acquisitions of the Bavarian Arzberg in 2013 and, in 2015, of Ercuis & Raynaud, icon of the elegance and tradition of “made in France” porcelain, have seen further growth of the range of products offered. Headquartered in Orfengo, between Novara and Vercelli, the group Sambonet Paderno Industrie S.p.A. is now a leader in the production of high-quality design tabletop and kitchen, destined for both the retail and the Ho.Re.Ca. sector.

Rosenthal meets Versace

Versace and Rosenthal are both recognized as brands synonymous with excellence and high quality. Rosenthal has an international reputation for uniting tradition and innovation, while Versace has its own world famous, glamorous and luxurious style. Together they have developed elegant, refined and exciting tableware and gift collections. Inspiration for these is derived from different historical periods and cultures. Thus, there are pieces that explore the exotic jungle imagery that is found on famous Versace prints, and collections incorporating the baroque iconography that the fashion house has made its own. Diving for hidden treasure, strolling through delightful gardens or viewing the most illustrious artefacts of the court of the Tsar.

Versace and Rosenthal conjure up diverse imaginary scenarios through their decorated tableware, laden with myth, symbolism and antique references.
To create these most luxurious dream worlds, Versace has used the highest quality porcelain, crystal and cutlery from Rosenthal. Precious materials are skillfully crafted into special pieces. Versace is well known for its ability to bring together the historical and the ultra-modern, to arrive at timeless yet totally contemporary designs. Its work with Rosenthal perfectly illustrates this unique aesthetic.

Fun with cooking, food, drink and giving is the Thomas motto. Therefore, the range offers a wide choice of original products, thought of “outside the box” and with a twinkle in the eye.

Thomas is the brand for design-oriented and uncomplicated crockery for everyday use. The products are deliberately functional, plain and versatile. With its differently oriented product ranges Thomas covers a wide range, with a solution at hand for every taste and customer requirement.

Classics such as “Trend” that have lasted decades, demonstrate the soundness of the brand and prove the high-quality standards of the products. In order to fully respond to the needs of its customers, Thomas trend-consciously incorporates new themes and materials into the range, in this way developing into a brand that combines functionality with lifestyle.

The Thomas clientele is notably heterogeneous: it appeals just as much to the young profession as to the elder lady, who when adding to her coffee set, buys additional Thomas products for her children and grandchildren.

Hutschenreuther – Porcelain under the banner of the lion
The 20-year-old porcelain painter Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther laid the foundation for the first private porcelain factory in north-east Bavaria in 1814. Pipe bowls, handleless, richly ornamented cups, but also fruit dishes and dessert plates were some of the hot sellers of that initial period. Since then, Hutschenreuther has emerged as a stylish brand for enjoyable living and ingenious gift ideas. Today, we associate the traditional brand Hutschenreuther with the “Blue Onion” pattern and the timeless “Maria Theresia” design every bit as with the limited article collections by Ole Winther – the limited Hutschenreuther Christmas bell, for example, is an inherent part of the Christmas festivities for many people
Whether spring, summer, autumn or winter, a number of service concepts, seasonal gift ideas and successful article collections kindle the desire for more. This is why Hutschenreuther shows itself in a contemporary modern light in 2014. New collections and a new lion underscore the current look without sacrificing consistency and tradition. Classics like the Maria Theresia design are experiencing a renaissance with new patterns, and gift ideas such as vases, bowls, boxes and figurative decoration articles form a significant part of the Hutschenreuther collections, too.

The craft for one of the oldest materials in human history found its way to Zwieselin Bavaria about 600 years ago – This is where, in 1872, our story found its beginning.

Founded by Anton Müller as a small sheet glass works, we have long since become one of the leading international glass specialists. But we don’t regard ourselves purely as an industrial enterprise, but more as an artisanal craft of sophisticated glass culture. State-of-the-art technology is an integral part of our company, but our greatest assets are our employees, whose extensive experience is often handed down through generations.

Every move gives our products their individual touch, then and now. Tradition and innovation melt to supreme glass art in each and every one of our crystal glasses. It is with this high standard of excellence that we look forward to the next 140 years, with high expectations and conscious of our history.
Whether it may be in the private or the professional sphere, the glass of choice, its texture and finesse, is sure to draw everyone’s attention. Zwiesel Kristallglas heeds this fact the necessary attention – for nigh on 140 years. Multivariant glass concepts are the result. They leave nothing to be desired, neither in haute cuisine, nor the private household.
